Alexandra won a close, hard fought, and chippy game over Crescent Heights in boys ‘A’ league action. CHHS led 12-6, 24-23, and 35-26 at the quarter poles before Alexandra’s press created a lot of turnovers and enabled them to take the lead late in the game finally prevailing 44-42.
Orin May lead the way for the Jayhawks with 14 points before fouling out early in the fourth quarter. Kyler Glauser had 15 points for the Vikings.
The game proved to be a rough one with 41 fouls called – 21 against Alexandra, who had two players foul out, and 20 against the Vikings and they also had two players foul out. The game also featured three unsportsman fouls. The referees did a great job in keeping the game from getting out of hand.
The Medicine Hat Christian Warriors took on the Wilson Royals B2 team at St. Mary’s School. The Warriors came out on top 38-23. Gabriel Baldovinos led the was for the Warriors with 18 points, while Ayman from Wilson had 8 points.
Two previously undefeated teams, the host St. Mary’s Colts played the Wilson Royals B1 team in league action on Thursday. The Colts came out on top in the close game 31-25. Haedyn Davies led the way for the Colts with 9 points, while Eli Smith led all scorers with 19 points.
St. Mary’s hosted the Pythons in an ‘A’ girls league match. St. Mary’s led most of the game but blew the lead and lost 49-45. The Pythons’ Megan Kowalski had 24 points and her teammate Meshak Smith at 21. Mackenzie Park and Kaylea Suderman both had 10 points for the Colts.
